I said, What? Oh no you don't; Archdiocese of Newark, Not without hearing from me!

 * Avarice

Newark (NJ)-Archdiocese in talks to sell now-closed Assumption church in Bayonne.

You gotta be kidding me!

The Archdiocese; will never get what that land is really worth. It’s a buyer’s market and the land isn’t worth, as much as they think.

Real Estate wise; this is not the prime location; even, whatever amount the Archdiocese could get for the entire block, isn’t worth destroying this Parish.

The property, wouldn't bring much for houses. Too close to a busy street.

Average price of a new house in that neighborhood about $350,000 the most.

I would estimate on that block; a lot big enough for a house would go for about; the most; $200,000 ea.

I would estimate that there are 10 such lots from Ave C to Kennedy Blvd, but the area would have to be cleared of the Church Property.

Making a total sale value of the entire block land purchase wise, aprox $2,000,000.
Not such a large sum of money; to destroy a Parish, that has been in existence, over a 100 years and still thriving with over 1,700 active, Parishioners.

What could buyers do with a property that has a building right in the center of all the lots, move it? That’s not practical or profitable.

So now it’s a broken parcel. Costs more to re-develop than the land is worth.
I wonder; who exactly, these prospective buyers are! Someone; looking for a good deal, no doubt!

* I could see the Archdiocese; maybe, selling off, the School building. That's fine. It’s old and of, no important distinction.

But not the Church, Rectory, parking lot and rest of the property. That's not acceptable.

* The Archdiocese should concentrate on selling or re-developing, St Joseph's Church instead.

That's where the real money is. The Prime Location. Over on Ave E, by the Light Rail.

St Joseph's would probably make a beautiful office, or apartment building. It’s a property all ready for easy, re-development. With, way fewer up front demolition costs.

I’m really annoyed with the Archdiocese. This is a really stupid move!

To even consider; desecrating, beautiful Assumption Church, for a measly two, or even, three, million dollars. Like some business that isn't showing a profit.

Sure the buyers, are lined up. They see a bargain.

The people in Bayonne; may sometimes, act like sheep. They let you close the Church. With only, a little fight. “I would have Occupied”.

Never the less; if the Archdiocese were, to sell; our Beloved, Lady Of Assumption Church, they might get a surprise.

They; may find, that the Bayonne people, get really mad and organize, to get even.
Old Bayonne saying “don’t get mad, get even.”

* There’s a little thing; called, Eminent domain.

St Joseph’s and St Michael's Church; both fall into this eminent domain, category.
Being so close to the Bayonne Light Rail. They could be classified for, re-developed, to suit that need.

The Archdiocese; angering the people of Bayonne, is not a wise move. IMO.

Would it be worth it; to lose St Joseph’s and St Michael's, for what, the Assumption property is worth?

* Note to: the Archdiocese; get what you can, while you can.

They’re willing to give you St Joseph’s (there’s no Parishioners there anymore) and give you, St Michael's too. (which; I would probably leave open, since its so small and it’s, economic to do so). Mt Carmel gets too crowded always.

* St Joseph’s is the prize. Huge building. big piece of land. Prime; location, to sell or re-develop.

St Joseph’s is worth more than Assumption and St Michael's, Church’s, both, put together.

* My advice to the Archdiocese; take them both, but leave Assumption Church alone, and get out of town, while the getting, is good.

Lay off Assumption, Archbishop Myers!

Let the Parish, keep their Church and re-open it.

Spend your time and resources; where you can make the most profit, while doing the least damage, to the Community.

God is watching and so am I and I’m the ring-leader, of the troublemakers in Bayonne and Our Lady Of Assumption, is my Favorite Parish.

Note to Archdiocese of Newark-Please, Do Not Sell, Assumption Church.
I understand why St Josephs and St Michael's  Churches were consolidated with Mt Carmel.

St Joseph's, no longer has a Roman Catholic Congregation and St Michael's is right across the street. Both are on the same block as Mt Carmel

Assumption is blocks away from Mt Carmel. All the way across town.

Mt Carmel is always crowded enough already; (standing room only on holidays). With the additional; Parishioners from St Joseph's, St Michael's and 1,700 more from Assumption. They wouldn't even all fit, in Mt Carmel Church!

I Love OLA. They kept us crazy kids safe and off the streets for hours, at their dances (back in the 1960's) every Friday night. Putting up with our drunken antics.
Bayonne, needs this Church. It’s a brand new building practically. Guess maybe 35 years old. It’s a great design to be energy efficient, too.

Throw some solar panels on the back of that roof and it’s self containing energy wise.

It’s an architecturally beautiful, modern design but large enough on the inside. More like a Chapel. Quite beautiful inside too.

Note To: Our Lady Of Assumption Parishioners Bayonne, NJ Occupy Mass! Occupy Mt Carmel Church.

They want 1,700 OLA Parishioners to  travel either all the way across town, to Mount Carmel Church,  or all the way downtown, to St Mary's and St Andrew's Churches.

I say:
 OCCUPY MASS!
Fight back!

Show The Archdiocese that the Parishioners of Our Lady Of Assumption aren't fooling around!

Put the spotlight on Mt Carmel Church. How it couldn't; even within the realm of possibility, have room, for so many Parishioners. This is obvious.

Get all the Parishioners to go to Mass at Mt Carmel.

Every Mass.

Especially the Saturday night and Sunday Masses.

Fill the Sunday Masses with so many Parishioners, that they spill out onto the sidewalk. Coincidentally,  Mt Carmel has a lot of room outside.

Just cram as many Parishioners into every Mt Carmel Mass that you can.

Make an impression.

Old saying; "Seeing, Is Believing."

Assemble the largest crowds possible, to flood Every Mass with people!

Contact, TV News Media! Get TV News Coverage. Make so much noise the Media can't ignore you!

Sometimes; to convince people, you gotta be, "in their face, obvious."

This; also show's the Archdiocese, what they want to see. People attending Mass and contributing to the Church.

Show the Archdiocese that they made a mistake.

*An Even Greater Impact; Would Be, To Occupy, All Three Church's, With People Spilling Out, Into The Street! Assumption Parish Has Enough Parishioners To Accomplish This Easily.

Can you imagine what a stir, that could cause with the proper publicity!  If Everyone; From OLA, Occupies Every Mass At All Three Church's, From Now Until Easter!

Archdiocese; really, can't expect people to go all the way downtown to St Mary's or St Andrews. That would be too far and a hardship.

But any way; all 3 of these Church's together, are not big enough to fit, 1.700 or more, Parishioners, in addition to their own Congregations!

Show them; how, all three of these other Church's aren't big enough to hold Our Lady Of Assumption’s many Parishioners.

It’s just as cheap to keep Our Lady Of Assumption open; as it would be, to add more Masses. (Which, wouldn't solve the overcrowding problem anyway, if everyone still decided to all attend, at the same time).

I Don't Know How The Archdiocese; Could Even Consider, Closing This Beautiful Church!
Solidarity OLA!

This Easter Season; Is, The Perfect Time To

OCCUPY MASS!

Oh yeah and don't forget, Red Mike's Marching Band!

That's what I would do.
ga

Carry your signs. Always use dark lettering for signs or the writing doesn't show up on pictures good.

Organize, hold meetings, plan a strategy ie how and when to get what people to whatever Church, etc.

Fight back beyond the letter writing, phone calling.

Take my advice. Try it now through Easter.

See what happens. You have nothing, to lose.

The Archdiocese; can't dispute, visible proof.

Don't I always know what I'm talking about? (Unlike some people, who will, remain nameless).

Quite beautiful inside too.

It would not only be tragic to the Congregation of 1,700 Parishioners and the Community to close this Church, but a waste to allow this beautiful building to be closed and just sit vacant in our cold and damp NJ winters. Would still have to heat the building anyway.

I Predict A Renewed Wave Of Political Activism In 2014 ♥ A Very Busy New Year

First We Have To, Shut Down-spectra's natural gas transportation pipeline in New Jersey And New York City!

The Objective Is Simple-NO Gas Pipeline!

spectra energy built a major natural gas pipeline expansion to New York City that runs through the heart of Jersey City. Jersey City & NYC will bear tremendous risks with no reward, all for the benefit of spectra energy shareholders!

Natural gas pipelines are prone to high risk of leaks that are released as either fine mists of toxic spray or result in fires and explosions that may do significant damage to property and life.

Spectra is rushing through the installation of their high pressure natural gas pipeline under the Hudson River, from New Jersey to emerge at Gansevoort Street, where Con Edison will pick up the work and build out the last section of the pipe to link to their distribution system.

spectra's proposed pipeline, would run up 10th Avenue from next to the New Whitney Museum up to 15th Street.

[Update June 25 2012] Gas Main Ruptured! Pressure on ruptured gas main on Jersey City-Bayonne border is reduced, but repairs are ongoing. by Ron Zeitlinger/The Jersey Journal

This is the area, where spectra wants to cut across the east side of the Bayonne/Jersey City Border to go to New York City. That's why their gas pipeline goes under Liberty State Park. Preservation Also, I'm sure I read in one of these links under the Statue of Liberty, but can't find it now).

The problem is; that the eastern border of Bayonne And Jersey City is a peninsula and used to be a canal 100 years ago.

Not very stable earth.
Jersey City, New Jersey (See map). Hudson County under severe thunderstorm watch Saturday July 28, 2012 by Travis Fedschun/The Jersey Journal Areas like Hoboken and parts of Jersey City are urged to take special precautions because they are prone to flooding.

That's exactly where the Morris Canal was.

The Morris Canal stretched from Phillipsburg on the Delaware River at its western end to Jersey City on the Hudson River at its eastern end.

Building even more gas pipeline in this area is an ecological disaster, just waiting to happen.

One good explosion like in Nyack; (Heaven Forbid) and the whole area could break up and sink! [Update June 22 2012 Jersey City mayor says natural-gas explosion in Nyack is 'perfect example of dangers of spectra pipeline by Terrence T. McDonald/The Jersey Journal

Not kidding. Peninsulas are fragile. Especially an area where a canal has been filled in.

paenīnsula "paene-": almost + "īnsula": island; also called a byland or biland) is a piece of land that is bordered by water on three sides but connected to mainland.

spectra energy is seeking to rip the residents of New Jersey off, with  a 20-year lease on a nearly an acre of parkland that will house the pipe.

The company, which received final federal approval for the pipeline on May 21, plans to pay the state about $2.3 million over the course of the lease. by Terrence T. McDonald/The Jersey Journal

Somebody's gotta be kidding!
The More I Find Out, the more I Know, that I was right in thinking this pipeline is a bad idea! It's not a good plan to run pipeline along shorelines and in densely populated areas.

What we need to do is replace and repair our old pipelines, not bring in more.

I definitely would not let spectra destroy the few remaining non-industrial parts of Jersey City!

NASA Temperature Data: 1880-2011

The comparison shows how Earth continues to experience higher temperatures than several decades ago.

The global average surface temperature in 2011 was the ninth warmest since 1880.

The finding sustains a trend that has seen the 21st century experience nine of the 10 warmest years in the modern meteorological record.

NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York released an analysis of how temperatures around the globe in 2011 compared to the average global temperature from the mid-20th century.

Rising sea levels are also a good reason not to allow spectra energy to build this pipeline on our NJ/NY coastlines.

Every time I read about the violence and degeneration of not only America's cities, but also what we used to call suburbs, it breaks my heart!

My beloved Asbury Park!
When I remember Asbury Park from when I was a young child. From age 7, throughout, my childhood years, I used to shop on the beautiful streets of Asbury Park with my Mother and Father and run all over it's Boardwalk! Asbury Park's Boardwalk, was beautiful in the 1950's and 60's.

Asbury Park had a Beautiful Shopping Section. Right up the block from the Boardwalk. I still see that beautiful avenue lined with stores and the Boardwalk at the end; with the ocean, in my dreams!

I loved the Swan Boats on the little lake, but my Mother would never let me go on them. She always said you can drown too easy in a lake, because it's fresh water and doesn't buoy you up like the salt water does. Oddly; she never noticed when I was swimming out so far in the ocean, that I was swinging on the ropes.

This really isn't about just a few people suffering; this is about a huge number of people suffering!

There are huge populations whom are affected by the destruction of humanity all over the country unnecessarily! We all need to unite to end this horror that has become everyday life everywhere in the United States, (and all over the world too), there has to be a stop to this!

Newark police searches, anonymous tips yield dozen arrests by Tomas Dinges/The Star-Ledger Thursday, March 01 2012

Newark police nab guns and drugs in series of arrests this week. by Tomas Dinges/The Star-Ledger February 02 2012

I most seriously have to ask, WHY? ie in the one arrest, they went to all the trouble of selling drugs. Hard work and dangerous too; especially, nowadays and the heroin and cocaine was only worth $3,800!

Crime Really Doesn't Pay!
$3,800 is totally chump change. The darn guns cost that much and the guns are what's gonna get these guys the big jail time! Scary guns! And they probably have no money and will have to use a Legal Aid Lawyer! These dealers are definitely their own best customers and these drugs are; really, bad!

Voice of experience here; way back in the 60's, when the drugs were real, not synthetic! When I think back on all the times i almost got killed (literally), I scare myself and wonder how I was ever so dumb!

A rhetorical question of course because I know that the government, society, with the media, etc. encouraged me (and my generation) to act the way I/we did. We had genocide back in the sixties too.

Yes, take my word for it
. Drugs have been synthetic since the eighties.

The heroin is not real. It's a synthetic opiate, they just still call it heroin.

The crack, is a pharmaceutical amphetamine. Rock form is so convenient for this. Pharmaceutical drugs make a person crazy! Voice of Experience Again, in the early 80's.

I read the New Jersey Newspapers every day and I know people are not this crazy! Something is making them like this!

I'll tell you the truth because I care enough to want you all to have good lives. Not running around in the dark in a slum of a ghetto, shooting each other and overdosing!

This is not fun. Fun is having as much money as rich people. No matter what anyone says, you'll never make it dealing drugs! There's no profit in drug dealing.

Don't believe the stupid movies. Believe me. At 62 I've been there, done that, seen it all!
(well almost, I never dealt drugs.) Being of unsound mind at the time, I took them all myself.

If I can straighten out and get a College Degree, anyone can.

I know this street. One of the few remaining blocks with un-renovated, tenement buildings and I mean slums!

Avenue C is the oldest street in Bayonne. It was the first and only street. The buildings on it were that old. The entire area has burned down since the 1960's. What didn't burn down was "renovated"! I'm not surprised, bad electric wiring. That's what happened to the entire avenue from about 18th to 26th Streets.

and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
By that time no one was left to speak up!

The Juvenile Collateral Consequences Project is an endeavor undertaken by the American Bar Association to document and analyze the significant hardships experienced by youth who have come in contact with the juvenile justice system. These hardships, known as collateral consequences affect youth who have successfully completed a sentence imposed by the court. Jersey City Man Shot At More Than 25 Times Dies From Bullet That Entered His Back!
The 12:17 a.m. incident began at Ocean and Winfield Avenues.
Late night shooting in Jersey City leaves 21-year-old dead, officials say
You Gotta Be Trying To Kid Me!

A 21-year-old Jersey City man was found lying on the sidewalk dead of an apparent gunshot wound after police responded to a report of a shooting near Ocean and Pearsall Avenues, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio.

What's going on! You Guys know better than to live like this. I know where these streets are. I used to wait on Ocean Ave. to get the bus to the Mall. I felt that safe there 5 years ago! Yeah I knew there was some violence but from what I've been reading here in the Jersey Journal, you are all killing yourselves and each other. I don't know you personally, but I probably went to school with your Grandmothers!

And if you're reading this, you know that everything I say about my life in Bayonne is all true and that I am giving you all the best advice anyone ever gave you! Go to Bayonne, ask about Georgia! Watch eyes roll. You don't even need a last name, they'll know who you mean!

Stop the violence now! Bad drugs, fools, you get mad at somebody and shoot them, but you don't get mad at the garbage drugs out there on the street, and continue to buy and take them like sheep, and you also go for buying those cheap second hand, go off in a second guns!

Let me think, If I Can Remember, Oh yeah, guns, bad drugs, alcohol, being 21 and uneducated = A Lethal Combination! Stop and think about what I'm saying. I know, I was 21 too, a long time ago, before the mind control!
