I keep reading in the New Jersey news about young people drowning. So I wrote this for everyone, everywhere.

I grew up in Bayonne and Southern New Jersey (Brick Town. About 20 miles from Seaside Heights Boardwalk) and spent every summer swimming in its ocean and occasionally in its lakes. But mostly in the ocean.

I've swam at beaches, from Point Pleasant to Atlantic City.

The ocean is not a place for an inexperienced swimmer, no matter how calm it looks.

If caught in an outgoing tide; or rip tide, Don't Try To Swim In To The Shore. SWIM SIDEWAYS FROM ONE SIDE OF THE BEACH TO THE OTHER. Rip tides are sudden and are only in parts of the water.

Don't panic. If you swim sideways you will swim out of the rip tide affected water. It's impossible to fight the tide and try to swim in. It will just keep pulling you out further

The ocean may look beautiful, inviting and fun, but it can also be very dangerous for anyone who is not a strong swimmer. If you don't swim really good. Swim in the motel pool and stay in the shallow end. Pools can be dangerous too!

Never Mix Alcohol/Drugs With Activities Near Or In The Water!

Always wear a life jacket (swim vest), if you are not an experienced swimmer and always, when boating.

Use caution when swimming in lakes, rivers, streams and generally everywhere.
Riverbeds, streams etc, often contain tree roots and other debris that a swimmer can get caught on. 

The fresh water, unlike the salt water of the ocean, doesn't provide any buoyancy which helps you to float .

Also, the mud bottoms can pull one down.

Always wear a bathing suit when swimming (or at the most, cotton shorts and a tee shirt). Do Not wear heavy clothing, like jeans. You'll sink like a stone!

When in a desperate situation in the water you do not need an extra 8 pounds (aprox weight of a wet pair of jeans) pulling you down!

I learned how to swim by age five using a swim/life vest. I still almost drowned in a lake, once when I was a teenager.

I was just wading and stepped into a drop (also called a dip). The next thing I knew, I was over my head and going down.

I was wearing jeans and they became heavy as lead and were pulling me under and that was it!

Luckily I had the time to tear them off and then I managed to struggle back up to the surface.

At the time I was surrounded by people close enough to almost touch me. But apparently no one saw me go under.

I am a most experienced swimmer. If I can almost drown, anyone can!

NEVER SWIM, WHERE THERE IS NO LIFEGUARD PRESENT AND NEVER SWIM ALONE!

And Never jump into unfamiliar water. As well as never dive into unfamiliar water.

One never knows how deep the water is, local and current tide strength, whether it's full of large rocks and other hazards that one can hit.

answer-Seasonal crops may be planted over the company's pipelines. While planting and tending the crops, you should take care in tilling and plowing not to damage the pipeline.

* The DREAM Act is bipartisan legislation that gives eligible young people who were brought to the U.S. as children the opportunity to resolve their immigration status and work towards citizenship. To move from being undocumented to being a U.S. citizen, those eligible will have to pass background checks and be of good moral character, graduate from high school, and go on to complete additional requirements related to attending college or completing military service.

The DREAM Act is supported by 70 percent of likely voters and by leaders in education, the military, business and religious orders.

* A national poll of 1,008 adults, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for First Focus in June 2010, shows that support cuts across regional and party lines with 70 percent overall support.

* University presidents and educational associations, as well as military recruiters, business and religious leaders have called on Congress to pass the DREAM Act.

The DREAM Act is a great return on money we have already invested and will prepare the country for the global economy.

* The students who would benefit under the DREAM Act have been raised and educated in the U.S. State and local taxpayers have already invested in the education of these children in elementary and secondary school. America deserves a return on their investment.

* Leading businesses such as Microsoft have endorsed the DREAM Act because they recognize that our broken immigration system is draining our economy of the talent and resources needed to compete in the global economy.

The DREAM Act promises to dramatically increase the pool of highly qualified recruits for the U.S. Armed Forces.

* There is a strong tradition of military service in immigrant families, but the lack of immigration status prevents many of those who wish to serve from enlisting.

On June 08 2012, a state commission approved spectra energy’s proposal to run a section of the Houston energy giant’s controversial natural gas pipeline below ground in Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The Texas Eastern natural gas pipeline from Linden to New York City, including a 15.5-mile stretch of 30-inch pipe that would travel the length of Bayonne and Jersey City before turning east near the Hoboken border and heading under the Hudson River, to Manhattan's West Village.

NO NO, NO, ABSOLUTELY, NO, gas pipeline Under Liberty State Park!

Judges; Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, please do not grant spectra corporation these pipeline permits.

The Jersey City, Hoboken, NJ/NY Harbor region should be protected from spectra corporation's attempts to extend their pipeline, that is against the best interests and wishes of these cities. Three important reasons to deny spectra's proposal:

1 The obvious reason, that the entire areas are way too densely populated.

2 New Jersey/New York Harbor; (where spectra wants to cross), is totally filled with Federally protected Historical Sites. Many of which, are very close to a National Monument, Our Statue Of Liberty!

3 The construction of spectra's gas pipeline would destroy the shoreline and natural environment; habitat, of New Jersey/New York Harbor's fish, marine life, birds and other animal populations for many generations, if not forever!

The entire New Jersey/New York Harbor from Liberty State Park's shore, across to Manhattan's West Village, (besides being filled with historical sites) is a fish estuary. Common species include bluefish, shad, striped bass and blue claw crabs.

Major Estuaries, Bays, and Rivers along the Northeast United States Coast Summary of Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) Designation:

NJ/NY harbor is Part of an Department of Environmental Protection's Program that consists of, an enormous watershed encompassing a much larger area.

In 2011, HEP updated its geographic footprint to include the Hudson River watershed up to the Troy Dam, as well as the watersheds of the Raritan, Passaic, Hackensack Rivers in New Jersey. This watershed approach is much more in keeping with the way other major estuaries are managed.

Also; the Richard J. Sullivan Natural Area of the Park; including Communipaw Cove, (36 acres), is a Nature Preserve and consists mainly of salt marsh, one of the few remaining tidal marshes of the Hudson River Estuary.

Please continue to read this post, for many more reasons why spectra's proposal was never a well thought out plan.

This is not an ordinary distribution, gas pipeline; the kind used in order to bring natural gas to homes, businesses and industries. This is; a long-haul, transportation pipeline!

As a transportation type pipeline; this means that, it will always have gas going through it, constantly, not, use a little pump a little more in like with domestic pipelines.

And the state, wants to allow spectra to run this pipeline through the streets of Jersey City!

spectra corporation is trying to claim eminent domain in order to seize the land, where they want to build their pipeline in Jersey City.

When in effect; they won't be able to build their gas pipeline along this route using eminent domain as a ploy, because; in reality, the main part of the pipeline would be tearing through areas like, the Morris Canal, which is a Federally protected Historical Site,

Stop this Houston,Tx based company. originally from Canada, from ripping off Jersey City, Hoboken, New York City's Waterways and West Village!

spectra cannot build their pipeline through Jersey City's neighborhoods.

An alternative route that spectra can use; is, when the Bayonne part of their pipeline reaches the City Line on Kennedy Blvd, it then needs to go around the back of Jersey City's Route 440, along its west side waterway Newark Bay.

Then, go north about 5 miles along the shore, following the water line in Newark Bay. And Then cross over from there or from Hoboken, to New York City. I would need maps to say where. I'm not an engineer. They get the big bucks to figure this kind of stuff out. Hoboken objects to spectra's proposed gas pipeline too. One can understand how they would not like it destroying their pristine NJ/NY Harbor! Hoboken, New Jersey

I wrote this post because; spectra energy corporation, makes me mad!

No one in Jersey City and Lower Manhattan wants the stupid pipeline.

I don't want it either. Especially in Lower New York/New Jersey Harbor or going through any of our towns and cities. I just put the pieces together here, to help my friends out. They always helped me a lot in my life!

These are, very populated areas and coincidentally, the proposed pipeline runs through many of the poorer sections of Jersey City.

Could this plan be any more stupid? Either the planning engineer is crazy or spectra's swindling New Jersey big time! Even I can figure this out.

I just sent this post to NJ Gov. Chris Christie and told him this too.

What a rip off all around!

For the past two days; I've been dreaming that tough guys are threatening me, but that someone comes and saves me each time.

Tonight I was dreaming that a guy♥ saved me who looked a lot like the one in this picture .

Except I was calling him Larry or Lawrence, or something like that.

He just smiled at me, walked right in and walked me away. And no one said one word to him.

When I woke up; I remembered having seen (in my google research yesterday), that the shoreline area that surrounds Liberty State Park, etc, and all of NY/NJ harbor, itself, is, a natural fish estuary and habitat.

They're Playing My Song; Again! They've been playing it for me since 1977 and I keep listening♥
