Becoming a U.S. Citizen

It isn't enough to talk about peace.
One must believe in it.
And it isn't enough to believe in it.
One must work at it.

The Dream Act
On September 14th, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that he will bring the DREAM Act up for a vote on the Senate floor as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, which the Senate will soon be considering.
Restrictionist members of the Senate are likely to threaten a filibuster of the bill, meaning that in order for the DREAM Act to be considered on the merits, it will first have to win 60 votes to stop the filibuster. A vote could come as early as Tuesday of next week.

With your help, the DREAM Act will be considered and pass in the Senate.

Points You Can Make About the DREAM Act

* The DREAM Act is bipartisan legislation that gives eligible young people who were brought to the U.S. as children the opportunity to resolve their immigration status and work towards citizenship. To move from being undocumented to being a U.S. citizen, those eligible will have to pass background checks and be of good moral character, graduate from high school, and go on to complete additional requirements related to attending college or completing military service.

The DREAM Act is supported by 70 percent of likely voters and by leaders in education, the military, business and religious orders.

* A national poll of 1,008 adults, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for First Focus in June 2010, shows that support cuts across regional and party lines with 70 percent overall support.

* University presidents and educational associations, as well as military recruiters, business and religious leaders have called on Congress to pass the DREAM Act.

The DREAM Act is a great return on money we have already invested and will prepare the country for the global economy.

* The students who would benefit under the DREAM Act have been raised and educated in the U.S. State and local taxpayers have already invested in the education of these children in elementary and secondary school. America deserves a return on their investment.

* Leading businesses such as Microsoft have endorsed the DREAM Act because they recognize that our broken immigration system is draining our economy of the talent and resources needed to compete in the global economy.

The DREAM Act promises to dramatically increase the pool of highly qualified recruits for the U.S. Armed Forces.

* There is a strong tradition of military service in immigrant families, but the lack of immigration status prevents many of those who wish to serve from enlisting.

Passage of the DREAM Act will increases revenues in our communities.
* Enabling 800,000 immigrant students access to higher education would go a long way in inspiring other immigrant youth to strive for a college education. This will help boost the number of high skilled American-raised workers. As they take their place as hard working, taxpaying Americans, they will contribute a lifetime of revenues at the local, state and federal level.

When Smoking Marijuana; (or other smoke-able herbs)-Please Do Not Use A butane lighter!

Butane lighters are not meant to be used like that. You're sucking in a ton of butane lighting a pipe or joint with it. Use Matches! In fact I wouldn't even use a butane lighter for cigarettes. More Poison!

Marinol Not A Suitable Alternative!
There has never been a documented human fatality from overdosing on
tetrahydrocannabinol or cannabis in its natural form.
However, the THC pill Marinol was cited by the FDA as being responsible for 4 of the 11,687 deaths from 17 different FDA approved drugs between January 1, 1997 to June 30, 2005

Medical marijuana is a lot better pain medicine than those poison pain pills, the doctors run up huge Medicaid bills prescribing!

It's like oops, you had an allergic reaction to that one last week, return it to me, or the pharmacy to dispose of and here I'll write you one for something different. You have medicaid, won't cost anything!

Voice of experience here!
Doctors almost killed me with pain medications!
They ran up a twenty five thousand dollar Medicaid bill,
and I also have Medicare!

Medical Marijuana would definitely help people like me who are allergic to pharmaceutical pain medications! There are many people who are!
