Coal River Mountain is a small non-profit working in communities affected by the irresponsible practices of the coal industry in Southern West Virginia.

Just because the US coal companies have already totally gutted the Appalachia's doesn't mean they're stopping. How do they all sleep at night? Blowing the Tops Off Mountains.

Mountaintop removal (MTR) coal mining, is one of America’s worst environmental crimes!
Every day, across Appalachia, the coal industry literally blows the tops off the mountains: clear-cutting forests, wiping out natural habitats and poisoning rivers and drinking water.

Not only are these mountains lost forever, but the heritage and the health of families across the region are being sacrificed. For a mere 7 percent of the nation’s coal, the trade-off does not add up!

The Adopt A Bubbe Or Zayde Program reaches out to elderly Jews and the handicapped in Ukraine and Belarus. Providing food, medicine, bed linens, clothing, eyeglasses, hearing aids, utility payments, and other items for those unable to exist on their pensions. 

Since the break up of the Soviet Union in 1991 with the resulting hyperinflation, pensions have become almost worthless.  At the same time, food, clothing, medicine and apartments are no longer subsidized by the government, and the prices for these have risen beyond the reach of most pensioners.

Here Are Some Important Points You Can Make.

* The DREAM Act is bipartisan legislation that gives eligible young people who were brought to the U.S. as children the opportunity to resolve their immigration status and work towards citizenship. To move from being undocumented to being a U.S. citizen, those eligible will have to pass background checks and be of good moral character, graduate from high school, and go on to complete additional requirements related to attending college or completing military service.

The DREAM Act is supported by 70 percent of likely voters and by leaders in education, the military, business and religious orders.

* A national poll of 1,008 adults, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for First Focus in June 2010, shows that support cuts across regional and party lines with 70 percent overall support.

* University presidents and educational associations, as well as military recruiters, business and religious leaders have called on Congress to pass the DREAM Act.

The DREAM Act is a great return on money we have already invested and will prepare the country for the global economy.

* The students who would benefit under the DREAM Act have been raised and educated in the U.S. State and local taxpayers have already invested in the education of these children in elementary and secondary school. America deserves a return on their investment.

* Leading businesses such as Microsoft have endorsed the DREAM Act because they recognize that our broken immigration system is draining our economy of the talent and resources needed to compete in the global economy.

The DREAM Act promises to dramatically increase the pool of highly qualified recruits for the U.S. Armed Forces.

* There is a strong tradition of military service in immigrant families, but the lack of immigration status prevents many of those who wish to serve from enlisting.

Passage of the DREAM Act will increases revenues in our communities.
* Enabling 800,000 immigrant students access to higher education would go a long way in inspiring other immigrant youth to strive for a college education. This will help boost the number of high skilled American-raised workers. As they take their place as hard working, taxpaying Americans, they will contribute a lifetime of revenues at the local, state and federal level.

I remember the 1964 World's Fair.
The theme was Peace through understanding. Immediately the Vietnam War broke out!

Although I wanna be the person, who goes over the hill first, screaming Stop!
We can't let bad people kill the world!
There will be a peaceful solution. Maybe not today.

How dumb are these world leaders?
It is now the year 2009.
The political world leaders have no more excuses of, we didn't know any better.

I seriously suggest, (for the sake of their own prosperity) That all the nations of the world think about human rights, Everywhere.

In Iran, In Africa, In Palestine and Israel, in China, Russia, Britain and America too. And all the other places in the world I'm not politically savvy enough to be able to name.

These countries have to make up their minds that Peace is the Only answer.

It is really time the whole world wakes up and realizes that peace is the solution.
It is the only road to prosperity.
Maybe with a little encouragement things may change. They may still hate us, or not.
My advice is "forget who you hate, do what's best for you". Don't let emotions cloud your better judgment!

Only time and diplomatic intercession will tell if the Promise of Peace will be kept.
The U.N., is where all these countries should settle their difficulties.
I know that the civilized way to discuss grievances is in the Boardroom, not in a street brawl.

There's Revolution in the air Just like in the Sixties.
President Obama said that every American's voice is important and that we should speak out on important issues. He said that together we can change the world! Sounds good to me Pres. You're the best!
