♥The Posse Foundation♥ Education/Whitehouse.Gov

How to Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

President Obama launched a national campaign to make a college education more accessible and achievable for low-income students at a White House summit on higher education Jan. 16 2014.

The President is calling on colleges, universities, businesses, and other organizations to help expand opportunity for more young Americans to get to college and succeed.

Leaders from more than 140 colleges and universities, businesses and and organizations attended a meeting at which Obama urged them to adopt best practices to increase the enrollment of low-income students and graduation rates.

The Posse Foundation Has identified, recruited and trained 5,544 public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential to become Posse Scholars. Since 1989, these students—many of whom might have been overlooked by traditional college selection processes—have been receiving four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner institutions of higher education.

Most important, Posse Scholars persist and graduate at a rate of 90 percent and make a visible difference on campus and throughout their professional careers.
