Today in America, nearly one in four children struggle on a daily basis with hunger. Federal school breakfast and lunch programs curb their appetites during the school week, but many families have little help to rely on over the course of the weekend and holidays. Two days without adequate food can do a lot to hinder a child’s productivity and nutritional needs.

So, Let's Not Forget About The Children Who Might Not Get Enough To Eat, Without; Free School Breakfasts, Lunches, And The Weekends Without Hunger Act H.R. 5012
On December 9, 2010, the House of Representatives unanimously passed the Weekends Without Hunger Act(H.R. 5012), which Feeding America has been working to pass. This bill would support community efforts to feed low-income children during weekends and long school holidays. If the bill passes the Senate, it would result in new opportunities for food banks to feed children on the weekends when they don't have access to child nutrition programs.
Help us urge the Senate to pass this important legislation.

No Fear Act Notice

On May 15, 2002, Congress enacted the “Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002,” which is now known as the No Fear Act. One purpose of the Act is to “require that Federal agencies be accountable for violations of antidiscrimination and whistleblower protection laws.” Public Law 107-174, Summary. In support of this purpose, Congress found that “agencies cannot be run effectively if those agencies practice or tolerate discrimination.” Public Law 107-174, Title I, General Provisions, section 101(1).

tea partier's Outnumbered By Union Protesters At Michigan Capitol Today 50-to-1
This effects everybody in this state, Enderle said of GOP legislation targeting Unions.
He was specifically upset about House Bill 4214
. Calling the legislation passive aggressive, Enderle says the bill which would give broad powers to emergency financial managers could easily be used to eliminate union contracts negotiated and approved in good faith.
Imagine if you make and agreement and sign a contract with me. Now, two weeks later I come back to you and say, We don’t have to adhere to that agreement, Enderle said. That says contracts don’t matter. That’s bad for business.
Especially if you had to go out and buy supplies, specific, for that job and already had!.
