The Child Nutrition Act (CNA) is a United States federal law signed on October 11, 1966 by President Lyndon B. Johnson.
The National School Lunch Program feeds 30.5 million children per day!
CNR regulates programs feeding millions of children through summer meals, Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and school breakfast and lunch. Access to healthy meals is vital for a child’s growth--hungry children don’t learn.

The Child Nutrition Act has a huge impact on children in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. 200,000 children in Wisconsin live in poverty and half of all babies born in Wisconsin receive WIC benefits. 600,000 children eat lunch at school and 120,000 children eat breakfast at school on a typical school day. Each summer in Milwaukee over a million meals are served to hungry kids through Fueling Young Mind
